Judge Focus Groups
DRC's judge focus groups provide key insights that will help you prepare for a bench trial or help decide whether to pursue a jury trial or a bench trial. Key insights from our judge focus groups include: What will a judge perceive to be the biggest weaknesses in your case? What are the most effective ways to educate the judge about complex factual issues? Will a judge be more persuaded by your arguments than a jury?
At the focus group, your case will be presented to a panel of former judges, who will each decide the case independently. After the case presentations, each judge will have a one-on-one debriefing session with the trial team and a DRC moderator. The judges will give their initial impressions as to what arguments they deem significant as well as the strengths and weaknesses of each side's case. Shortly after the focus group, each judge will submit an independent written opinion based on the presentations and their review of the record. Shortly thereafter, all judges will return for a team strategy session to discuss their written opinions.
DRC will review and analyze the judges’ written opinions and oral feedback to identify decision-making trends and provide a detailed analysis of problem areas, case strengths and weaknesses, and points of confusion. DRC's written analysis will make detailed, evidence-based strategy recommendations regarding how to address these issues at trial.
