Breach of Contract

DRC regularly supports clients on matters involving breach of contract claims. We often work with business entities and individuals on matters related to employment agreements, service agreements, commercial leases, asset-purchase agreements, equity agreements, and many others.

In a recent example, DRC assisted an entertainment client in defending against a breach of contract claims brought by a former employee. For that matter, DRC led several multi-day focus groups and also conducted an online focus group to test prospective jurors’ reactions to the parties’ themes and arguments. DRC also prepared demonstrative aid concepts designed to neutralize negative factual issues, leverage beneficial facts, and capitalize on pro-defense trends identified during each of the focus group exercises. DRC has also worked on numerous residential mortgage-backed securities cases (RMBS), arising from the 2007-2008 financial crisis, that involved the enforcement of various contract provisions related to the securitization of subprime mortgage loans.
